Leading Us Forward

Prior to joining the company in 2017, Joe served as chief executive officer and president of Acelity, where he was responsible for overseeing the development and commercialization of their innovative wound care and regenerative medicine business. He also served as global president, vascular therapies, for Covidien, creating their vascular division and leading the company’s acquisition and integration of ev3.
Before his time at Covidien, Joe served as Smith & Nephew’s global president, advanced wound management, and Alliance Imaging’s vice president, Pacific operations. He previously served as board director for Acelity, the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) and Systagenix Wound Management. He also served as Chair of AdvaMed’s Wound Healing and Tissue Regeneration Sector.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton.

His significant operations and R&D leadership experience includes more than 30 years in a variety of manufacturing, service, engineering, and quality positions within GE Healthcare, GE Transportation Systems, Hill-Rom, as well as Harris Corp’s Communications and Aerospace Systems divisions.
Prior to joining the company, Dave served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Acelity, where he led the company’s global manufacturing operations and oversaw its inventory, supply chain, procurement and facilities functions. In that role, he was instrumental in optimizing Acelity’s cost structure and sustaining the savings throughout the company’s expansion.
Dave earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Lee has more than 25 years of medical device design and development experience. Prior to joining the company, he successfully led numerous R&D organizations at Covidien and built PMO and technology development organizations. Most recently, he was the vice president of R&D for the venous solutions franchise of Peripheral Vascular at Covidien. Under his leadership, teams have developed and brought to market more than 40 innovative solutions. Lee currently holds 10 US patents and has a number of additional patents pending.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and a master’s of business administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Lee is an active member of the Southeastern Medical Device Association (SEMDA) board.

Michael joined the company in 2020, bringing more than 20 years of corporate finance, accounting, treasury and M&A strategy experience in a variety of industries including medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotech. He also has a proven track record in change management and shareholder value creation.
Prior to joining the company, Michael served as Executive Vice President and CFO for AngioDynamics, Inc., a publicly listed healthcare company, where he played an integral role in transforming its portfolio through both internal development and M&A. Prior to that, he was the CFO at Extreme Reach, Inc.
Michael holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a master’s of business administration degree from Columbia University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Bill joined the company in 2020, bringing more than 25 years of experience in strategy, marketing, commercialization, innovation and M&A strategy development and execution.
Prior to joining Avanos, Bill served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Medical Division of Cantel, a leading provider of infection prevention products and services in the healthcare market. He has also held global leadership roles at Boston Scientific, Bayer Healthcare and St. Jude Medical.
Bill has a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.

Kerr has more than 25 years of experience in the medical device and pharma/biotech industries, including extensive experience driving global growth via new product development, M&A and commercial execution. He started his career in sales and sales management with Eli Lilly & Company and led marketing and business development functions for McKesson Corporation. Prior to joining Avanos, Kerr held positions in marketing, business development and general management with Covidien’s $6B Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (now part of Medtronic), and as Chief Commercial Officer with AlloSource, a $300M regenerative medicine company focused on sports, spine and orthopedic applications.
Kerr has a bachelor’s degree in business from The University of Kansas and a master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Mizanu’s vast experience includes more than 20 years in the medical devices, pharmaceutical and health care industries. He joined the company in 2013 as vice president, global quality, before accepting his current role. Prior to joining the company, he held senior level positions at Johnson & Johnson and Steris Corporation.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in medical technology and a master’s degree in microbiology and immunology from Murray State University. He is also a certified Process Excellence Six Sigma Black Belt, has been published in numerous scientific journals and received a number of patents in medical device areas.
Mizanu serves as an Advisory Board Member for United Way, North Fulton and is actively involved with United Way of Greater Atlanta.

Arjun joined the company in 2017 as vice president and general manager of the company’s Asia-Pacific business. With a background in finance, he has a proven track-record of driving growth and business performance, as well as building high-performing teams.
Prior to joining the company, Arjun spent 10 years at Covidien/Medtronic where he held roles in general management and finance. He also worked for Honeywell in its specialty materials portfolio. Additionally, he spent seven years with a British distribution group and four years with a public accounting firm in London.
Arjun is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Delhi University in New Delhi, India as well as a degree in accounting from Oxford-Brookes University, UK.
He is a former member of the advisory board of CFO Asia magazine, a regular panelist at Economist CFO roundtables and was co-chairman of the Medical Devices committee in AMCHAM India.

Michelle joined the company in 2020, bringing over 20 years of experience in providing legal advice to business teams, building compliance programs, and integrating compliance into business operations and culture.
Prior to joining Avanos, Michelle served as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of Cantel Corporation, a leading provider of infection prevention products and services in the healthcare and dental markets. She also held roles of increasing responsibility in the legal and compliance departments at Integra LifeSciences Corporation, including Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel for Global Operations.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Ursinus College in English, and a juris doctor from The Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University.
Michelle has been an active member of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) Device and Diagnostic Compliance Group for over 10 years.
